Delozier to Host Scam Jam for 88th District Residents

January 24, 2024

HARRISBURG—Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) invites residents of the 88th Legislative District to Scam Jam, an upcoming event for individuals who want to learn how to avoid common scams that can impact their financial well-being.

Scam Jam will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lower Allen Township building, located at 2233 Gettysburg Road in Camp Hill.

“I am excited to partner with the Department of Banking and Securities to bring Scam Jam to my district,” said Delozier. “The tactics fraudsters use to scam victims are constantly evolving. By hosting this event, I hope we can educate and empower people to make discerning decisions about who they share information with and prevent people from falling victim to scammers.”

Scam Jam is presented in collaboration with the Department of Banking and Securities’ Investor Education and Consumer Outreach office.

Presenters will include individuals from the Department of Banking and Securities, AARP, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office, Camp Hill and Lower Allen police departments and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.

One of the activities will include Fraud Bingo, an interactive presentation that teaches consumers how to protect themselves from fraud while playing bingo. Players will learn how to detect fraud by identifying scams affecting their own city or town and learning techniques to protect themselves from this financial abuse. Light refreshments will be provided.

Seating for Scam Jam is limited! Please RSVP with Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665 or online at RepDelozier.com/Events to ensure your spot at this free event. In the case of snow, Scam Jam will be held the following day, Thursday, Feb. 8.
