New Development on PennDOT’s P3 Bridge Proposal

Since its inception, I have adamantly opposed PennDOT’s Major Bridge P3 proposal. The proposal was an attempt to place tolls on nine interstate bridges across Pennsylvania, including the John Harris Memorial (South) I-83 Bridge over the Susquehanna River. On June 30, Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court ruled in favor of a lawsuit filed by municipalities against PennDOT and declared the agency has no authority to implement its plan to toll the bridges. I am both grateful and relieved the court recognized that the P3 legal process was not followed and shut down this effort.

Children and Youth Committee

Children and Youth Committee focuses on the well-being of the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable – youth. In conjunction with the committee, members work closely with the Department of Human Services; Office of Children, Youth and Families; Office of Child Development and Early Learning; and County Children and Youth Agencies. One of the biggest issue areas is Child Protective Services which involves child abuse investigations, foster care, dependency court and more. Other legislative issues include but not limited to: domestic relations, child care and intervention services. Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland), chairman of the Children and Youth Committee, is heavily involved in juvenile justice. Juvenile justice as well as additional legislative issues will be top concern in the upcoming committee meetings.

HARRISBURG – Legislation authored by state Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) that would allow refrigerants in the Commonwealth to be listed as acceptable alternatives to hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) under the federal Clean Air Act was signed into law by Gov. Tom Wolf today.
