Raising Breast Cancer Awareness
Every October, the Capitol fountain is dyed pink as a symbol of breast cancer awareness. It’s a tribute to the strength of the thousands of Pennsylvania women battling this disease.

The impact of not having a state budget is huge for schools, local governments, non-profit entities, and others. Compromise is needed to reach a responsible solution for the people of Pennsylvania.
During National Child Passenger Safety Week, I hosted a car seat safety check and damaged license plate replacement event. Many residents of the 88th District took advantage of these free services which were provided in conjunction with certified car seat technicians and local police. Ensuring a car seat is installed correctly dramatically decreases the risk of injury and death for children in vehicle accidents. Having a clean, easily readable plate keeps drivers in compliance with state law. AND our communities are all the safer for it. Thanks to everyone who participated!
On Sept. 22, the House Judiciary Committee approved House Resolution 279, which marks October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. I have sponsored this resolution for many years as domestic violence awareness and support for survivors remain critical topics in the Commonwealth. I am proud to continue my fierce advocacy for victims, and I appreciate the bipartisan support of the committee.
I recently participated in a panel discussion with Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network and fellow statewide Clean Slate advocates. The message was clear. Clean Slate opens doors to change lives for the better. By sealing low-level, nonviolent felony convictions after 10 years without recidivism, we can give deserving Pennsylvanians a second chance and unlock new opportunities.
The 2025 Little League World Series (LLWS) has wrapped up. But, before the fun ended, I made a trip to Williamsport to support the best in youth baseball. The LLWS provides a phenomenal experience for players, families and fans!
Did you know? The Little League World Series isn't just fun and games. It generates about $40 million in economic activity for the greater Williamsport community.
On Aug. 11, I chatted with Sarah Gerdes, a student at the Catholic University of America, about mental health. I was glad to talk about the need to destigmatize mental health struggles, promote resources in the region for mental health and domestic violence, and share my thoughts on how we must continue adapting to best support our friends, family and neighbors in need of extra support. Mental health impacts every one of us.
On Aug. 11, I had the pleasure of chatting with Cumberland Valley High School senior Rohan Jawale about children and youth issues. I was glad to recap my time as Republican Chair of the House Children and Youth Committee, as well as share information about a bipartisan bill I’m working on to assure court guidance on the issue of intended parentage.
The state budget was due June 30, but instead of working toward meeting that goal for the people of Pennsylvania, the House was called into session to vote on one bill - House Bill 1788. This mass transportation funding bill is not an agreed-to product with the Senate. The General Assembly and the governor need to do the hard work of reaching a compromise for taxpayers.
