Delozier Announces Grants for 88th District Fire, EMS

February 11, 2025

HARRISBURG – Eight hard-working first responder companies in the 88th District are recipients of state grant awards under the PA Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, according to Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland).

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.

“Our firefighters and EMS providers work hard and make daily sacrifices to serve and protect our municipalities. These companies are also run exclusively by volunteers, who need to make equipment and safety upgrades to continue doing their jobs effectively,” said Delozier. “These grant awards are just one way we show our support for all they do by choosing to answer the call of duty.”

Grants awarded within the 88th District are:
• New Cumberland Fire Department, $13,955.
• New Cumberland EMS, $15,000.
• Lower Allen Township Fire Department, $15,676.
• Lower Allen Township EMS, $15,000.
• Mechanicsburg Volunteer Fire Department, $40,322.
• Hampden Township EMS, $15,000.
• Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Co., $16,322.
• Shiremanstown Fire Co., $12,448.

All companies that apply and meet requirements outlined by OSFC receive funding. Companies must file a grant agreement with OSFC to receive their grants.

Questions about these grants can be directed to Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665.
