Delozier Announces Grants for 88th District Fire, EMS

February 12, 2026

HARRISBURG – Eight volunteer first responder companies in the 88th District are recipients of state grant awards under the PA Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, according to Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland).

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.

“Our volunteer firefighters and EMS providers show incredible skill and dedication to their jobs, working hard every day to protect our municipalities,” said Delozier. “These grants, which provide essential dollars for equipment and safety upgrades, allow our first responders to continue doing their jobs effectively. The awards granted under this program are just one small way to show our support and gratitude for those who answer the call of duty in our communities.”

Grants awarded within the 88th District are:

   • New Cumberland Fire Department, $14,075.
   • New Cumberland EMS, $15,000.
   • Lower Allen Township Fire Department, $14,487.
   • Lower Allen Township EMS, $15,000.
   • Mechanicsburg Volunteer Fire Department, $40,136.
   • Hampden Township EMS, $15,000.
   • Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Co., $16,136.
   • Shiremanstown Fire Co., $12,426.

All companies that apply and meet requirements outlined by OSFC receive funding. Companies must file a grant agreement with OSFC to receive their grants.

Questions about these grants can be directed to Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665.
